A GOOD GERMAN K98 MAUSER BAYONET WITH MATCHING NUMBERS, dated 1936, with 10 in. blued steel single-edged blade fullered on each side, ricasso marked 'S/242 on one side and '4586 / a' over, blued steel hilt with pommel Waffenamt stamped, wooden grips, together with its original blued scabbard with throat stamped '4568 / a' above frog stud with 'S/242 / 1936' over, Waffenamt stamp to scabbard finial, some loss to the blueing, especially on the scabbard, appears to have storage wear only, 16 in. overall
